A physical theatre piece based on the social, cultural, spiritual impressions of the river island Majuli situated in the river Brahmaputra, in Assam. The music created is from instruments that are played by the Assamese, Deori and Mising communities of Majuli.
Combination of physical theatre, dance theatre and movement art with a
performing cast of 11 . It’s an exploration to dramatize Mary Shelley’s 1831 introduction to her book, Frankenstein The work is about oppression and
exploitation of woman. It is also a comment about our socio political clilmate
that is plunging deeper into crisis.
Self owned center in Jorhat, constructed from eco friendly material and a black box transformation for hosting theatrical events. Its activities include –
1) Teaching dance and music forms
2) Hosting theatre, dance, music performances
3) Yoga and skills training
4) Residential workshops for children and adults
5) Providing exposure to local talent in performances across the world
Main work has been “Katha Yatra”, which is a a research on understanding
the eco system of the river Brahmaputra. It uses field based research work, video,
photography, art, stage, print and radio. The attempt is to showcase the unifying role played by the river in the lives of the people of its banks.

getting trained in Satriya dance, Borgeet
and Khul in a community provided
Naamghar
3) Hummingbird School sent 15 selected
students from Kolamua Gaon of Majuli , for
a 15 day residential workshop on singing,
instruments and crafts from ropes
