Brahmaputra Cultural Foundation (BCF): A non-profit organization striving to preserve and promote cultural traditions of North-East India and showcase the best practices in the field of performing and visual arts from all over the world. It is the center from which national and international stage performances, films, artworks, publications, radio shows, workshops, seminars, artist exchanges, and research are generated.The Foundation aims at striking a balance between the flows of traditional and modern knowledge, and rural forms and metropolitan expressions. It offers a fresh and alternative perspective relating to the arts and crafts, sound and music, movement and dance, theatre, architecture and design, indigenous medicine, flora and fauna, handloom, food culture, environment, and biodiversity etc. of North East India through different mediums of cultural expressions. Through research based projects the foundation aims to address the social, cultural and developmental conflicts in the states of North-east India. It aims also to develop and train the capacities, skills and confidence of the youth and communities to pursue their unique learning path, strengthen leadership capacity and develop their artistic practices. It also aims to develop the field of health and wellness through various forms and practices, to bring development to the mind and bodies in a holistic way through the philosophy and practice of Yoga, and thereby spread the message of mental and physical well-being in the region.
